There are very strict rules about giving information out to people. You won't be able to be told all the details of what was found out or what has happened. However, you should get told that the matter has been acted upon and that steps have been taken to make sure that the child or young person is going to be safe and properly cared for.

And - just in case someone forgets to do it - the people you alerted want to thank you for caring enough to have contacted them in the first place. Your call might have been very, very important.
