There is a wide variety of voluntary organisations within Dundee. The national organisations, such as Aberlour, Barnardo's, Children 1st and NCH have projects in Dundee. As well as these there are a large number of local organisations who work only in Dundee or the Tayside area.

These voluntary sector organisations play a crucial role in providing support and resources to children, young people and their families. They are often able to take a flexible and creative approach which complements the services provided by statutory agencies such as education, health, police and social work. And in partnership with the statutory agencies, these voluntary sector organisations can provide the support that meets the needs of the individual children,  young people and their families. There is a great deal of knowledge, skills and expertise within these agencies in dealing with child protection concerns.
