PARTICIPATING IN A CHILD PROTECTION CASE CONFERENCE LEVEL 2
This is a multi agency course that will provide practitioners with the knowledge of the processes/ procedures and their role and responsibilities It will clarify the purpose of child protection case conferences and increase participants confidence in applying their knowledge and skills when attending a child protection case conference.
It will also serve as a useful refresher to staff who have previously attended a child protection case conference.
Target audience
Practitioners and managers who work with children/young people and may be invited to attend a child protection case conference .
Also for practitioners who work with adults who are parents/carers i.e. Those who work with substance misusing parents/carers, CMHT staff etc………
Pre-requisite knowledge
Participants must have an understanding of their agency's child protection policies and procedures and have previously attended an introductory course on child protection.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will increase their knowledge and understanding about:
- the purpose of a child protection case conference
- the different types of case conference that take place.
- the processes in Dundee regarding child protection case conferences
- their role and responsibilities , and the role of others, before, during and after a child protection case conference.
