Core Programme Level 0/1
Purpose:
To provide all staff in Dundee with information to reinforce the concept that it is Everyone's Job to ensure that children/young people are protected from harm and abuse and that they as an adult share that responsibility. To inform staff of their responsibility to ensure they are aware of their agencies policies/procedures with regard to protecting children/young people and where to access them. Also to find out whom within their organisation they should share any concerns they have about a child/young person.
Target Audience -All staff in all agencies across Dundee
Content -
- basic information with regards to Dundee CYPPC and it's role and remit
- information about what children/young people need and possible impact if their needs are not met
- possible indications that may cause concern about children/young people
- possible indications that may cause concern about parents/carers
- staff responsibility
- Action to take
- Recap of significant points
- Sign off sheet for records
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- have an understanding of their responsibilities as adults to protect children and young people from harm and abuse
- have an understanding of some of the situations that may give them cause for concern about a child/young person or about an adult who is responsible for a child/young person
- know their responsibility to ensure they are aware of the content and location of their agency/dept child protection polices and procedures
- know their responsibility to ensure they know the identity of the person within their agency/dept that they should share any concerns with.
- will know when they require to act on a concern
