Protecting Children & young People from Sexual Exploitation Level 2
This awareness raising workshop aims to raise the awareness of practitioners and managers to the vulnerability of children/young people to sexual exploitation and of the local protocol and guidance documents to use.
Target audience
Practitioners and managers who work with children/young people and/or. Also for practitioners who work with adults who are parents/carers i.e. Those who work with substance misusing parents/carers, CMHT staff etc………
Pre-requisite knowledge
Participants must have an understanding of their agency's child protection policies and procedures and have previously attended an introductory course on child protection.
Learning Outcomes:
- participants will understand their own knowledge and attitudes to the sexual exploitation of children and young people
- participants will be more aware of the risk of sexual exploitation as a child protection issue
- participants will be more aware of the current Protocol and multi-agency guidance notes
- participants will know what action to take if they have clear child protection concerns about a child/young person
